what a run can do

So I have this hammock that sits outside. its not the netted kind, it sits in a stand. LP got it for me last year for our wedding anniversary. He always says I don't use it...but I do :) and today I did :D And I wanted to share with you my time with God...but first let me back up to yesterday

Recently LP and I discovered a park next to Lake Benson...its on the same road as our gym....idk why we didnt notice it before. Oh and across the street it connects to another park! So awesome! Yesterday I took myself to the Park. LP was at the NCAA turnny with our pastor watching Carolina. So it was just me yesterday. I went to the park with the intention of running the loop around twice. Which is a 2.4 mile run. Well I sprinted another .1 mile, got a swig of water and went at it again for another half mile for a total of 3 miles! YES! Bring on the 5K im running in two weeks! whoo!
Well don't bring it on yet. I've got two more weeks lol. But thankfully I'll have my running buddies that weekend to push me!
So I came home, took my dog Maggie for a walk, then cooked a great dinner with and watched some basketball.
I love how yesterday was just want I needed. I may be sore today but it was well worth it.

This morning I used my hammock to enjoy breakfast and a yummy cup of coffee. I sat down with my bible and with God. Yesterday on my run I prayed God would run with me. Along my run I was able to just enjoy his creation. Not only nature but the people at the park. And I felt God Spoke this truth to me.: He said (in my own words). "Heather Look around. See the trees, birds, the water? I know you love the color and how they look. But if I can make all of this to be enjoyed by so many, to make them happy. Please for a moment think of this: I made you. I made you to enjoy this creation. If all of this is so precious to you, imagine how precious you are to me"

I smiled the whole run...well for the most part. I was able to enjoy my feet hitting the pavement, the kids running around, the dog barking, the sun in my face, the old guy laying on the ground taking pictures. It was all God, everywhere. I could only hope everyone around me was feeling the same.

In Malachi I read these truths today :

Ch 1 vs 2 "I have always love you" says the Lord
"I am the Lord, and I do not change" Ch3:6
"They will be my people" says the Lord of Heave's armies. "On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure" ch4:17

I am a SPECIAL TREASURE! my God loves me. But this the truth: God remains faithful to us who honor and remain faithful to him. :)

Find peace today my friends, peace in God's truth. Go for a run, walk with God, and ask for his truth and love to wash over you. You wont regret it

The first mile of many.....

So I'm just going to say it, ouch! Yesterday LP, Dustin, Kristin and I ventured to the gym. I had no intention of doing to much, which I am proud to say I didn't. I usually get really excited when I make it back to the gym and with the initial rush of endorphins I tend to over do it. But not yesterday; walked about a half mile, ran a mile, then walked another half mile. Over all 28 mins and 2 miles together. I've got to start somewhere right? Waking up today I realized that I could have done wayyyy more stretching.
I've also decided to change up the music on the ipod; my Sweet Workout play list has gotten a little redundant so its time for an update.
However I wanted to share one of the most important songs that will forever remain on any running play list. Once you read the lyrics you have to go listen to the amazing beat of this song. It keeps me running no matter what point of my run I'm in.

Its is by a Christan rap artist: Lecare its called "Run" appropriate right? :)

The intro beings with this crazy sounding man quoting 2 Timothy 2:5 "And if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the prize unless he competes according to the rules."

You know your boy, Crae, running for the prize, I'm gunnin'
The one that don't rust or break all of a sudden
The Holy Spirit got your boy doin' a dozen
Push up, push up
, come on, work it out cousin
I run from the flesh/it be tryin' to rise
And I'm done with livin' gettin' drunk and high
I'm a son of El Shaddai, the most High, who most def want me to do more then get by
I look in the sky and I'm so inspired, to run for a God whose my soul's desire
My sole desire to run for Jesus
And give Him all the credit like I run for visa
I'm done with pieces/I found my dime
I run to the wife that the Lord provided
And we decided that we would run together for God's glory alone homie we ain't lyin'
I run to the Word cause my soul is thirsty
No runnin from affliction though they may hurt me
I do preach wrath but I speak on mercy
And grace by faith, you can call me churchy

Run, this is your race, boy. Run, don't stop.
Run til your blood vessels bust like a glock
Run like a Nascar run round the track
Run, boy, run, boy,

Naw I ain't sweaty and my breaths pretty steady
My feet don't hurt and my legs ain't heavy

I'm still in the marathon, I keep the pace steady
Temptation is quick/but the Spirit stay ready
My eyes on the prize/yeah, they fixed on Christ
Hydrated in the Word but the joints are tight
That's why I get with a coach, who can stretch your boy
Who can push, pull, train me and test your boy
And blooka, blooka yeah you heard the gun
That means run off the blocks, run!
The Son is where I stay focused
Avoiding sin and I pass the baton to the faithful men
And we never run in vain or for finite prizes
So when the race is done there will be no surprises

The world says quit/we ain't tryin' to hear it
Cause to quench our sin's thirst is to quench the Spirit

We still in it, dawg
We can't quit, ya'll
All my cousins who runnin wanna stick wid it, ya'll
Jezebel is jumpin/your path, you best run
They tempting you to puff, puff, pass/you best run
Keep ya kicks laced, get your grips straight before you quit, you kick, this is the big race
Forget a medal man it's bigger than that
Forget a 4.2 40 man you're quicker than that
The Holy Spirit got the breath you breathe
So if the cramps kick in, it's the all the breath you need

Wait on the Lord to renew you man
Don't stop, keep going, you can do this man
Keep the Word in your grip, keep the Word on your lips, keep a tight knit Christlike crew for fellowship
And before you see the end and the race is done
Find some people who are seekin' and teach em to run

See what I mean....BEST.SONG.EVER. Keeps me motivated to run and the spiritual aspect is the best! Words don't even begin to describe the motivation physically and spiritually behind this song. I even start to sing it while on the treadmill.

There is so much freedom and joy in running, and there is freedom and joy that come from knowing Christ and living in his word.

peace.

Faith and Books

1/5/11
I am finding the value of faith, even when I feel that all I have done is complain or not given it enough credit. I owe so much gratitude and thankfulness to God for just showing me that he is there and forever faithful and unyielding in his love to me.
Today my car seems to have no problems at all. My Dad came and got it yesterday and apparently the only thing wrong with it was the radiator cap was not on tight enough. All the leaking, fogging up, and overheating had been one simple thing.
This makes me think of all the times when we are faced with life or problems that seem so vast and multiple in numbers we get so overwhelmed that we panic. So, when after the dust has settled we take a step back and suck in a big breath we see that it was all only one small problem that was easily fixable. I can’t tell you how many times I have jumped to conclusions or caused more problems to appear because I didn’t look at a situation with a clear head, or with a speck of sanity. In the end I am left feeling a little foolish, and in that moment I humbly admit defeat or at least laugh at myself.
Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused. I love that quote, it still hangs on my bedroom door at my parent’s house. There’s a lot of truth in that statement and I know that I should try to remember it more often.
Ok that is my wise reflection for the day, or at least the moment. Here is the Random:

I just finished a book trilogy entitled The Call of the Herald, well thats the first book...its really titled The Dawning of Power. It was a free book on my kobo e-reader app on my phone, well the first book was. It’s a fantasy story and I fell in love with it. I purchased the other two books for 99 cents on Amazon kindle for PC. It took me all of 3 maybe 4 days to finish them both because I could not put them away. And now that it is all over I feel lost and sad! I miss the characters and their amazing battles and how they grew from kids/teenagers to adults. I will miss reading about their story and adventure and overcoming the odds stacked against them. You can think weird of me but I don’t care. I have found that I enjoy reading so much. It’s like opening a world to which I can escape to, often times wishing I was the main character, or just a character all of my own to add to the story. Sometimes the stories are so great that I never want them to end. I usually get this with a trilogy or a longer series. For example: the Twilight series, or Red, Black, and White series by Ted Dekker. I cried at the end of White. For several reasons, the beauty of the story was so emotional and so spiritually linked to how God loves us and sacrificed so much for us. It put that into a solid story with its own shapes and feelings that I cried. And also for the simple reason it was over even though I wanted more of the story that was left untold to the imagination. Books and stories can overwhelm me with emotion; I’ve yelled, cried, laughed, gasped and even shut the cover, and to my embarrassment I’ve done it out loud around people who just stare at me. But either way, yes this is a weird and random post about books, but as I said I will miss the book and characters I just got done experiencing a different life with.
I have another book I am currently reading by Steve Berry The Emperors Tomb. So hopefully the adventures of Cotton Malone will once again draw me in to a real world of secrets and adventure, and somewhat real history.
Until next time….read on :)

Happy New Year! 2011!

Wow! Is it really 2011?!? I can't believe how time just flies by! 2010- Thanks for the memories! Its been a great year, full of so much! I became and Aunt to a beautiful niece - Leanna Marie <3. Football season was so amazing! This summers mission trip to Savannah...wow. My sister got married! and so much more happened that I can't even remember right now, but it was a great year....lots of trials and testing. LP and I moved into the parsonage, and Ive made some new friends.

Of course with any new year we all have resolutions. Each year we make them and each year people either stick with it or look back in regret at something they wanted to do but didn't. I have my resolutions and I'm not promising to keep them, but I am promising that I will try. I am hoping that I will stick with certain things, and improve on others....but for the sake of blogging and something to do at this youth lock in here are some of my resolutions.

1.Grow Spiritually- Ive been complacent and not seeking after God, I just lazy or out of time...so.. its time to change that. I want to read my bible more, memorize it and know it! I want to follow God's will for my life :)
2. Grow spiritually with my husband - this means praying more together and reading the word together. Means a lot to me for Christ to be the center of our relationship
2.5. Spend more time with LP - we don't see each other as much but i want us to spend more time together.
3. Finish my Masters
4. Be a better athletic trainer - For me this just means to expand my knowledge, be more efficient at what I do and currently know.
5. Get in shape! - i say it all the time. But really I miss working out! So getting into shape means I work out, run and lift weights, but that I am aiming towards getting healthy, losing some weight, and toning up!.
6. Eat healthier - less soda and tea, and more water. More fruits and veggies. My body appreciates healthier foods :)
7. Run and complete a Half marathon :) - or at least run in some races!
8. Build strong friendships with my friends - spend time with friends, make new friends, and go see the ones I haven't seen in a while
9. Read more (I secretly want a kindle)
10. Read Captivating and complete the workbook
11. Cook more- really i want to cook for my hubby and me. and I want to be pretty good at it
12. Spend more time with family and friends
13. Save money
14. Get closer to being out of debt - pay off trailblazer, and cards and just have student loans to worry about
15. Go on a real vacation with LP- or at least start saving up for a big one!
16. Relax more
17. Complain less
18. Be more positive - toward life and myself as well!
19. Journal more - and or blog :)

Im sure there are so manyl other things I could add to the list...but I think that is enough for now. Im so tired right now lol I just want to do to bed! But im trying to hang in there till the end of the lock in...woah
Well welcome 2011....hope this is a great year!

:D

So working on homework is a drag....blahh. I'm not looking forward to this Annotated bibliography which I just spelled correctly I think on the first try haha.

Anyways got more of the house decorated and will have some pics up soon! We got our tree today! yay!

But here are a few of me and LP recently together...and notice the tree themes hehe.

Been a while

I can't believe the last time I blogged was when football started! Gah! So much has happened since then. Season went well, made it to first round of states only to lose to Cardinal Gibbons...I think we could have won, but we just weren't together.
Its winter season with wrestling and basketball and I really miss football. The seniors and I have been with each other for 4 years now. So its sad to see them go.
This season I did get to meet Tom Suiter from Football Friday. Tyree got the Extra Effort Award so proud of him.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I have so much to be thankful for! I am so thankful for friends, family, a very wonderful husband who I love so much! The youth group ministry I get to be some part of. But mostly for God getting me through everything and always standing by me.

LP gave me my bday present early yesterday:) I lost my DS a while back :( but he bought me another one and several games. He didn't tell me how much it all was but I know it was more than it needed to be. But he knows me so well! I love my DS and the new games.

LP and I went Black Friday shopping and all the games were kinda of sold out already at 1am crazy! But we got all the other stuff we wanted to get. Then we ate homework and cleaning to do...and hope to be done by tomorrow. :/ we shall see. I think I might go to Fuquay to Kohls and just to get out of the house again. I need more ribbon for some in home decorating!

Friday night Lights

Next week starts two-a days...8-11:30 and 1-3. Im pretty pumped about this year. We get Hoodies :)And I've had two young ladies who are interested in sports medicine come along and have been the biggest help ever!
http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
However, the sad part about next week is that...the youth are leaving for Caswell on Monday, and I wont be able to go :( This is my first time missing Caswell with LP, and I am so bummed out about it. I couldn't find anyone to work for me. I have one Trainer friend around, but she is preggers and I dont want her out in the heat....no way!
So maybe God will make a way for me to go down on Friday. We shall see

Until then I am excited to start reading Captivating and doing a book journal that goes along with it. I am also still trying to read a Psalm a day...but have been slack this week. I am going to but 1 Corinthians on hold and start the book of John with LP.

So lots of stuff is going on. HS will start back soon and so will online grad school. Hopefully I can get a car after next week and start driving something with better gas mileage than our trailblazer and my dad truck. *fingers crossed* that this car will last a long time!

Well I just got done playing with my baby niece...who is the cutest baby in the world...I love her!:) But its shower time

peace

.....misery loves company...

If misery loves company...then that company is boredom :/

The basketball tournament is moving on....but just not fast enough. I just went and got some Chick-fil-A :) which was delicious and amazing as always. Usually I dont get the chance to go get any type of food during tournaments, but we had a intermission today, and instead of the plain peanut butter sandwich I packed I chose to get something much better....muy bueno! :) I am trying to find a sunny side to all this, and stop my complaining....im getting paid good money for this...but i just can't being bored...it wouldn't be so bad if I knew where I could be right now. :'/

Any ways we start back up at 330 and the last game starts at 630...so three more games....which is kind of like a night of basketball at OHS :/ loooooong, but the time inbetween these games is shorter and they play 2 16min halves instead of 4 8min quarters. so basically the same amount of time....

whew now my stomach hurts from eating...probably to much...usually I have Lawrence to make sure I dont eat as many chicken nuggets ;) But he is at UNC-W safely and with all the other cool people i wish to be hanging out with. But im glad he made it.

Alright fingers crossed in hopes the next three games will go by quickly. I might try to watch
Lie to me on Hulu.... love this show! Maybe that will make the time go by faster.
Either way Im sure in about 15 to 30 mins after my food has settled more I will want a nap.......oh if only. So ready to go. Ok i'll stop my complaining now

spy or ninja?...how about both?

Confession : I wish I was a spy....even though my husband told me there was no way I could be a spy, because I would cry to much to be one.
Confession 2: I wish i was a ninja....

So this weekend I am working a basketball tournament for AAU showcase stuff. Its good money but ugh It takes forever, and I was just looking at the schedule, there is small hour break window in which I could probably go get lunch or close my eyes, but should I get paid for that? I hope so. Im in Durham, which has horrible streets, my car already feels like it could fall apart and traveling on rumbling streets doesn't help the feeling.
When today is said and done, I get to go stay with my brother who is a home in Pilot. He said he would food ready for me when I got there :) He's such a good lil' brother. I just hope I can make it to the food, without crashing and falling asleep on the couch first..... 3.5 hours is not enough.

On the positive side, other than making some money....the week of FCA camp is here!! LP is headed down that way today (me=jealous/sad) wish I was there to hang out with everyone and go to the beach. Depending on game times tomorrow, I hope to be at UNC-W tomorrow late afternoon....or early evening...its goin to take 3 hours to get there...but I brought some new music :)
I really can't wait, I love FCA camp...and the beach! :D Its different not being a huddle leader, but being the athletic trainer...i definitely get a little more sleep than i did as a HL....but i miss being a huddle leader and building relationships. Some of my best memories, decisions, friends, and best times were at FCA camp. So I hope and pray it is that way for the other leaders.

Yesterday I read 1 Corinthians chapter 2. And I am really perplexed by what God's wisdom is, and what it means to have spiritual wisdom, and to speak spiritual truths. I really want to learn more about what spiritual truths are and how I can share it with others. So for now i plan to dig a little deeper into that and see what God has to show me

For now Im one game away (maybe 1 and 1/2) from finding a coke or Dr. Pepper...caffeine is much needed right now.

Peace

P90X????

Well today is suppose to be the day we restart P90X.....i was suppose to get up this morning and try but failed to roll out of my comfortable sleep. Now worries...i'll do it tonight? I have to work so it will be late when i get home. I really would like to wait till next monday since I will no longer have any MORE GAMES TO WORK!!! MUWAHAHAHA....whew im a little excited. :D

Friday markes the end of regular home games....might have a few practices bc of play offs....and i might travel with a team to those said playoffs...but well see.

Any ways yesterday was the last day of soda and sweets. I think what I will do for now so I dont end up binging on cake or something lol....is just no sweets during the week....and if I want something on the weekend I can have some of it in moderation. I can do that since i mostly just work all week. :/ Im gonna try to keep a daily log of my progress. I would like to start running again along with P90x... we shall see. I went for a walk with maggie and jogged some last night...felt good.

Ok....breakfast was coffee (with a spoon of sugar...can't help it right now lol) and 2 eggs with cheese on wheat toast (1 slice) hmmm got an orange for snack...and idk about lunch or dinner.

hmmm....we shall see...update later

blog or no blog

So as much as I like to talk and well talk I never blog. Why? I have no idea, but I like the idea of keeping a blog in hopes that one day i will use it! mahh

Anyways....migraine for the second day. Had one on friday....and got another one again today. :( All I can do when I have one is cry and hurt. So today I took midol and cherry coke....and then I slept. I woke up at 830pm and felt better. However, I still had a 6 page paper to write on my educational philosophy....mehh. I didn't finish by the 12am deadline, but hopefully my professor will not take off too much.

I still feel really weird, my body just feels so blah. Week and dizzy as well...I do not want to go to work tomorrow at all. But I have to , I can't call in sick unless I really really have to. Since I do not get a sub for my class, the class falls on one of the phys ed teachers and I feel bad for doing that with out warning.

So tomorrow morning I will be forced to get up early again, and work on something coherent for Sports medicine class.

Softball and Baseball are away tomorrow...which means i might get to leave work early. Goals are to go to revival with LP, and get work done so that my weekend is clear of all responsibilities. ...hoping to get that done.

Oh yeah we got a new vehicle...a 2003 Trail blazzer...its a nice ride. Hate we have car payments again, but I think the Trail Blazzer is worth it, i hope it will be....it sits 8 people...yep woah

well my head still feels like its being slightly squished. and my stomach has been feeling sickish since I got home...i think that bed time is in order...considering my dog is already taken up my spot on the bed...haha
goodnight

oh one day this blog will make sense...maybe...it is called random importance. :)

Haiti

Someone said that its sad that it takes a disaster for the world to realize there is so many people in need....either way. Gods people are in need. 85% of Haiti was poor before the quake....and just by GOOGLE I have seen that a lot of groups go and try to help out haiti...and now is time more than ever to go and Help Gods people who are hurting, in pain, agony, and lost.

Ever since the quake God has been pressing on my heart to go to Haiti. I cry for them, and literally want to pack my bags and go now. Right now I am in a state of prayer and waiting for God. I have answered his calling. To send me when it is his time. And to use me as he sees fit.

Pray for Haiti....give money for Haiti.....answer the call to be Gods witness to those who need it. Pray for other places that are just as bad as Haiti...other countries, cities, people..who are lost, lonely, scared and in need of a Savior.

God- I am your hands and feet I'll go where you send me....until them Help me to help the people of Haiti somehow.

too much....

sorry this blog was written two weeks ago and was never uploaded...can't let it go to waste.

I have not updated since St.Patricks day....lame? yes I think so.
So well to cover the basics...summer was great..wish I was still on summer vacation. Football started out great Aug 1st at midnight...after working basketball tournaments in GA days prior I drove back that night, was a home for 15 mins and LP took me to midnight madness. The season hasnt been so great, on the winning side and on the injury side.
We are overall 1-6....yes and 1-1 in the conference. We took out union pines and then were viciously crushed by Douglas Byrd who hit hard and ran fast all over our defense. Its hard to watch these guys get crushed like that.

What makes it all even worse is out senior QB completely dislocated his knee 3 weeks e ago....ACL-gone, MCL-gone, PCL-partial tear. Some how both minicuses are still there! He wont have surgery for a couple more weeks allowing for the MCL to heal. Ive got a junior who tore his ACL - surgery is wednesday (hope they let me watch!) We've had bad concussion (dude didnt even know what month it was!), heat exhaustion (almost a heat stroke), cracker humerous, torn labrums, sprained MCLs....and then theres the normal bumps, cuts, bruises and more. And losing just adds more salt to the wounds.

Im conflicted though, I dont think I have another year in me for Overhills. I love it, but if me and LP move to the parsonage I will have to drive 45 mins every day one way. And the underappreciation and lack of respect is getting to me a little. I can handle it from coaches and other staff, but from the players? Its hard to take, these are the kids i invest my time, energy and degree in! they can give me a little credit no? They are not all bad! there are certianly those I love and dont want to leave them! Cleveland High School is being built a few miles down the road from West Johnston. New school....new start? Im hoping so, we shall see.

Other than all that Im working this weekend in Durham...AAU basketball tournaments...good money. But not good timing for work. Ive got a second job taking some kids to school in the AM...and of course i start the week that I have a home game everynight and football thursday and friday ...Ive been so tired and busy I havent done anything else! I have an online class that Im desperatly behind in, I just hope I can finish what i need to by the end of tonight and early tomorrow. We have half day tomorrow, no games and everything practice must be done before 3...I hope thats God giving me a few crucial hours...

As you can see I am one busy woman! haha if that covers it. :/ Most of all right now I am homesick! I hate hate hate being away from LP and maggie. I had to spend the night in creepy durham at a Days Inn that was ehhh ok....

GREEN RIVER!

I didn't know this until today! Each each year for st. pattys day Chicago dies its chicago river green!!
and they use a orange powder to do it....weird huh?
here is a cool site that has the history of it and a video
http://www.greenchicagoriver.com/index.html

look at the pictures from google and see how green it is!
GO GREEN!

Wear some green or get pinched!

Happy St. Patrick's day to all!! :) May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.

So I hope your wearing your green today so you don't get pinched. If you have never read the story of ol' St. Patty you really should. LP preached this past Sunday...did a great job! ;) and told the story behind the holiday. Which I was able to tell my Sports Medicine class today! So yay!

Its been a while since Ive updated. Not much has changed really. We are moving to a new town home! its really nice and instead of it being right of the street like the place we live at now its kind of in a sub-division of its own. The rent is a little higher but its worth it I think for a little bit bigger place, and safety!! The place we live at now is probably not the safest of places, we've never had a problem but its the kind of place you could have a problem.

Work is going pretty good. Its spring sports season. I just wish the sun and the 75 80 degree weather would come back! I dont like all this cold rainy mush...makes me sick.....which I am. Battling a sinus thing...gross.

Everything seems to be going pretty good. I got my car back.....ehh....and Im looking a second job. really right now i just need weekend work, need to pick up some extra cash, and then by may when the sports stop I can work after 3:30 then the summer I can work more. So Im working on that so keep your fingers crossed I can get a weekend job that still allows me to go to church and work sunday afternoons or evenings and still have time to spend with LP and Maggie.
well see what comes along

So with that I will leave with a couple of irish toast and blessing

As you slide down the banisters of life may the splinters never point the wrong way.

May you get all your wishes but one,
So you always have something to strive for.

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.

Here's to your coffin...
May it be built of 100 year old oaks which I will plant tomorrow.

May your neighbors respect you,
Troubles neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.

May you be in heaven one half hour before the devil knows you're dead.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
The insight to know where you are,
and the foresight to know when you've gone too far.

:)

confession

So I have a confession to make......im a procrastinator! *gasp*
*Like my family and anyone I went college with didn't already know that.*
You see I have ADD....meaning there are slow chemicals in my brain that don't really fire on time. haha my brain procrastinates too. But I have a hard time concentrating on a lot of stuff. I get bored and restless easily. But even when there is something to do I get off task and find something else that needs to be doing....follow me so far? good

So one of my new year resolutions or rather the things I want to accomplish by the end of 2009 is to spend time daily in the word, with the Lord, and another was to read my bible from beginning to end. So my scattered little brain put the two together. One of my FCA kids, Chris, at school pointed out a program that his church was doing. Its called Around the word in 180 days.
So I have started reading from the begining the other day.
With my procrastination and ADD i have a tendency to not complete things I start. So I am confessing now to my faults in hopes that I can complete something I start this year

I'll post all my resolutions later but for a start I am reading the bible all the way through and each day spending that time in Gods word to learn about him as he has always been from day one.

Praise be to God!

Oh a week Off and O yes Obama!

So this past week starting with Monday we had no school due to the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr Day. Then my hopes and dreams came true! SNOW!!!
Yes it snowed! Finally! I have not seen snow like this since my Freshman (maybe sophomore) year at CU. It was so beautiful! I thanked the Lord every time I looked outside to see it covered in white and to see it continue to fall. Lawrence and I walked up to downtown and took pictures and enjoyed the site of all the snow. It just looked so amazing and since there were only a few cars out on the street there was a peaceful feeling from all the snow.
With all the snow and some ice the county canceled school for Tuesday ( the actually snow day) then for Wednesday and to my surprise they closed school Thursday! It was like having a winter break! The rest I got was wonderful, and the time at home with LP and maggie was exactly what I needed. Praise God for his blessings!

So Tuesday marked an event in history, a historic one! I almost cried (im such a softy). Since we had the day off due to the weather CNN was all that we watched. Lawrence and I got to sit and watch as the 44th president of the United States was sworen in to Office. Now Im old enough to have voted twice. But I didnt really follow all the polotics like Idid this time around.
I was excited and happy to see history in the making. How awesome it was to see the first African American president voted into office. I really thought it was something you only in movies.
But being able to be a part of it all to see change in our nation and to see the inaguration was a great moment in my lifetime that I get to tell to my grandkids one day.

And my prayers are with the Bush family who is proud of what he did for the past 8 years and no matter what the pols said I still beleive in him and I still respect the man for leading the country.
Check out his speech on CNN when he got home to texas. Im so happy he got a warm welcome home.

As for President Obama I will pray for his term in office and I pray for the Lord to be with him and his wonderful family. And no matter what anyone says black, white, poka-dotted, yellow, pink or orange, young or old I beleive that the man in office today is the man that the Lord put in office. I beleive that God knows what he is doing and the right man for the job was selected. I feel a peace and comfort with President Obama in office....now if I could meet him for real that would be sweet! I think the opportunity to meet any president would be pretty sweet.
I am thankful for a country were I can vote freely and be a apart of what is best for my country.
So to President Obama- good luck and God be with you and your family in the years to come. I know you'll serve this country well.

Well today is friday....my only day of work this entire week! Working a basketball game but not complaing.
To God be the Glory!

Turkey Holiday!! gooble!

So this past Thanksgiving holiday was a much needed break! Between community school and work I have been in need of a few days off. Wednesday the day before thanksgiving we still have community classes but as soon as that was over it was FREEDOM!

Thursday Lawrence and I got up and watched some of the Macy's day parade and got ready for lunch at his Moms. West Johnston High School (were LP brother and sister go) was in the parade so that was great to see a school from NC that's close to home, in the parade.
We had lunch at LPs mom's house and it was some good food. His brother Jonathan is back from some Marine training and brought two of his friends to Thanksgiving. We use to do that when I was in college. Marine friends and college friends came to the house to eat and it was good times.
Well after taking a family photo for a Christmas card me and LP headed to P-town to eat some more with my family.

(In between the trip we stoped to get Apples to Apples. and we better play it soon!)

Dinner at my house is always a blast! We laughed and talked the hole time! Rachel (my sister) brought her boyfriend Allan and My brother Jason brought his girlfreind Sarah. Plus me and LP. Then Doug and Mrs Leanne joined us and my mom and dad. Grandma stopped by......so it was a full house with lots of fun and laughs! Makes me miss home. We stayed until everyone left and the we headed back to Angier in hopes of getting up to go black friday shopping
Yeah so the 5am stuff never happened, we settled for getting up around 10 :) Which was much better.
We had an entire day of shopping! It was so much fun, we got presentes for alomst everyone on the list and got our first Chritmas tree! I have to say my favorite places were the Chrsitmas Tree Farm and its a toss between the Dollar tree and the Gardian Angel thrift store. hehe. We got lots of decorations and had such a blast together. Our floor is covered in walmart, and dollar tree bags! awesomeness!
We are having a Christmas party for friends thursday and I can't wait to show off all the Christams stuff.....just need to finish cleaning the house yikes!
Well there is tons of work to do here...at work....so be sure to check out our marriage blog

I'll be putting pictures up of our tree adventures!

Love always!

Keeping up with the Jones'

So my little brother Jason calls me last night sounding very excited. Asking if dad told me, if I had herd the news. Not sure of what was going on I said "no" even though I had seem my father earlier that day to help bleed the brakes on the green car he did not tell me some big ol' news I should have known about.

I was instructed to go to fieldandstream.com.
A magazine I believe my brother lives by.
Under the photos of the week and the forth picture later there my brother was holding up four birds.
He said to me it was one of his accomplishments and we determined that he might crap a chicken if he actually made the magazine. So congrats to my little bro for making Best bird in field and stream....im so proud *tear* :D
